Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by Vice President Sweta.
Previous minutes were approved.

Principal’s Update (Ms. Minton)

  • Author visit for 5th grade
  • Enrichment activities scheduled for grade levels
  • STAAR testing

Upcoming Dates:

  • March 27th – Glow party & movie night
  • April 3rd & 6th – No school for learners
  • April 1st – Pre K enrollment begins
  • April 30th – Kinder roundup
  • May 18th – Field Day

Treasurer’s Report (Shoaib)

  • $32,000 est in bank

Action / Opportunities:

  • 130 yearbooks sold
  • Excess stock of past yearbooks placed for sale for $10
  • Lifetouch gives the opportunity to buy more memorabilia from the website
  • $10,000 in CRE savings account
  • Estimated to carry forward $6,000 to the new school year

Enrichment (Basu)

  • UIL (University Interscholastic League) coaching by PTO members
    • Number Sense
    • Spelling Bee
    • Reading Writing
    • Oral Reading

Students performed well & secured many positions.

Grade Level Activities

  • Petting Zoo (Pre-K) – April 21st
  • Creature Teacher (1st, K) – April 13th
  • Bee keeping show – April 28th
  • Author visit – March 27th

Yearbook (Shoaib)

  • Cost: $40
  • Sold 126 copies out of 326 copies so far
  • Past yearbook stock sold for $10
  • Cost comes out to be $9,262
  • Yearbooks arrive first week of May

Field Day (Shoaib)

  • Cost: $2,000
  • New vendor used for bounce houses

Graduation Day (Vanita)

  • T-shirt design have been finalized
  • Kona Ice cost: $660
  • Backdrop, treats & keepsake cost to be determined

Teacher Appreciation Week (Savanna)

  • Sponsors have been secured
  • More information will be communicated soon

Except for the two positions stated to be won through ballot voting, the rest were voted on verbally.
